Stupid, Stupid Yard

Our Dads
The Family Working Away

My Mom & Reese Playing in the Dirt

So we decide to try to start working in our yard again. Reason being is the people from our ward called a few weeks ago and wanted to do a service project with the youth and thought our yard would be perfect. So last week they came and moved tons of dirt and pulled lots of weeds in our back yard. We felt so stupid, because we are sure there are way more people that need service done for them. But we were totally grateful that they came and helped us out. They got a lot done, way more than we expected.
So that motivated us to get out there again and get going on it. It has just been one problem after another. Anyway, we asked all of our families to come help us on Saturday. Almost all of them came and helped. We took tons of weeds to the dump, moved dirt & rocks, and Eric spent the entire day fixing the nightmare sprinkling system.
So by the end of the day Saturday we were feeling like there was some end in site!!!

Ya right- So Sunday me and Eric were taking our Sunday naps when someone persistently continues to knock and ring at the front door. Finally I got up still half asleep and answer the door. Jake our next door neighbor is standing there and he begins to tell me that our back yard is flooding and there is a giant geyser shooting up in the air! So Eric runs out there and sure enough Jake was right.
We must have too much pressure coming out of the secondary water and it blew our sprinkler system box up, again.
The geyser was so big and powerful I thought Eric was going to shoot up to the top while he was diving on top of it trying to get the water shut off.
He got soaked and all muddy. I felt so bad for him. All his hard work ruined.
So now we are back to trying to fix that again. Will it never end?
Plus all of the dirt we had moved to the top of the back yard is now back down at the bottom on the patio. Here are some pictures, but they don’t do it justice.

That is NO FUN!!! I am sorry, that really does suck to do all that work and then have that happen! But on a brighter note Dusty knows sprinkling systems VERY well-since that was his profession in Boise and Wyoming, so if you need help, give me a call and we will stop by! He really does love landscapping stuff so I am not volunteering him for a job he hates! Good luck with the clean up!

I would love to come and help you! You let me know when I am pretty much free!

P.S. That picture took forever to get, Bruiser is afraid of the camera so dustin had to hold him down, it was pretty funny.

Thanks for the post. It was so fun to look over your blog, and see everything that you have been up to. I can't believe how long it's been since I have seen you or had any idea what you were up to.
